Our History
A Cut Above Grooming Salon opened its doors in 1991. We’re now grooming second and third generation pets for some clients. We started as a one-person salon in the upper Westside of Manhattan and have grown to be a popular grooming shop serving the entire tri-state area. We’re staffed with as many as ten pet styling professionals so despite our popularity, our approach is the same as it was in 1991-- give individual attention to each and every pet-- just as we did when we first opened fourteen years ago. Our longevity and popularity attest to the quality and consistency of the care and attention we provide. We’re proud to be busy, but each groomer still focuses on one pet at a time.

Recommendations
Look for well-styled dogs being walked on the upper Westside. Ask the owner where their pet was groomed and chances are they’ll tell you, A Cut Above. Ask your veterinarian about us. Many know of us from personal experience with their own family pets. Most other veterinarians in the area know us from positive feedback from their clients and from seeing well-groomed patients at their practice. Hours
We receive pets from 8:30am and “try” to close by 6pm, Mondays to Saturdays. For early pick-ups we ask that your pet be checked in no later than 10am. For end-of-the-day pick-ups you can check in your pet up to 1pm, depending on how busy we are that day. We’re happy to release your pet as soon as we complete the grooming and will try to work within your schedule. We ask for your flexibility on pick-up times on holidays and busy days when many other clients also want their pet groomed.
